I've FINALLY put some new stuff in my Etsy shop. Head on over there for some lovely bags of vintage trims to use for your projects or a pretty vintage apron!
It just seems like everywhere you go these days there are pregnant women! It's like an epidemic! Well, I had a request for one of my super cute Candy Corn Hats and actually got it finished! Whoohoo! Another baby gift completed!
Candy Corn Hat 0-6 months
Knit Picks Swish DK Yarn - Superwash Merino Wool
Colors: Semolina, Orange & White
I used to sell these cuties in my etsy shop, but I get my yarn from KnitPicks and they have since discontinued that perfect yellow color....so unless I want to re-vamp my whole hat and choose new yarns, only family and friends will be receiving these (luckily I stocked up on some extra skeins of yellow before they were gone)!
I finally started on my FIRST baby project for my own little one today! Only about 3 weeks to go until my currently scheduled C-Section! I have a few projects I'd like to have done by then...... =)
I bought this adorable growth chart decal from Abby's House on Etsy quite a while ago... back in December, I think. But then there were the holidays and we moved and I just never got around to putting it together.
Next hurdle? Getting my husband to go buy me a board from Lowe's for my project. Finally he got around to it and I bought some Boiled Linseed Oil and a sponge brush from Wal-Mart.
I still didn't get around to finishing the board right away though... and in the mean time, I was babysitting for a friend and she got ahold of my son's markers....
Oops... I was a little annoyed, but realized that I could just turn it over and use the back for my growth chart. This side will be towards the wall anyway.
I waited for a week when the weatherman said it would be nice and FINALLY got around to treating my board. I left it out in the sun to dry all day and then brought it in.
Isn't it pretty?? =)
I've waited about a week (this is what it called for on my instructions from Abby's House).
Next step? Applying the decal. Honestly, I get a little scared doing this part. I'm always afraid I'm going to totally mess it up, but I followed the instructions that came with it and it was fairly easy! Hooray!
Here's my finished project! I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
I love that it is simple and will grow with my boys as they get older since it's not a specific theme - and it will look good in any room of the house for the same reason.
Now I just have to get my husband to mount it somewhere..... hmmm....
Want your own Ruler Growth Chart? Visit Abby's House - they're only $12.00!
(This is not an official product review! I'm just sharing!)
In the spirit of the holidays, I thought it was time to host another giveaway!

There are some fun new additions to my Etsy Shop today!

Here's where we've been spending time once a week the past few weeks going through some of my grandma's stash (did you miss the post on the stash?)! Every week we pull out the good stuff to sell on Etsy, sell at a garage sale, send to the Goodwill or throw in the trash!
Yes, this is a greenhouse - surprisingly watertight!
When we started, it was completely full and now you can see the back wall!
Hooray!
Be on the lookout for A BUNCH of new vintage aprons in the shop also!
These trims and etc come from grandma's vintage linen collection.
She collected vintage items of all kinds. She passed away last year and I am trying
to pass on some of her large collection to others who can use it and appreciate it.

There may also be other random treasures we threw in as we were going through stuff,
but this is the majority of it. As we filled these bags, we attempted to cull items that
were damaged or overly worn and frayed. These items have not been cleaned.
This is the bag I'm giving away - but I may add a few more things to it. =)
Sound interesting??? Are you crafty??

I'm going to be on VACATION during this giveaway and unable to
I was so excited when I got to work tonight and started reading through my regular blogs (graveyard shift - not much else to do). I was scrolling through and then something caught my eye - Winner of the Tassimo T20 Brewing System "elsie".
What!? That's me! I mean, how many Elsie's can there be in the world? =) (not that many - at least - not that many under the age of 80 and I doubt they are entering blog contests)
So that was pretty exciting - discovered by going to my email that my winners email had gone into my spam folder, so I was pretty lucky to read that post! I could have missed out!
In other news: My son goes around the house singing now - not sure what he's singing, but its super cute nonetheless Whenever you ask him a question he shakes his head. He doesn't actually tell you "no", but he emphatically shakes his head - it's really cute.
I'm in a little bit of a blogging funk at the moment. Not really for a lack of having things to blog about - more like the energy to do it. =) Anyway... so instead of coming up with something interesting to say, I thought I'd show you my new bookmarks I made with some vintage buttons from my grandma's house!
I purchased these great bookmarks from a shop on Etsy. They have a round metal disk on the back to attach the button to them. They are HUGE bookmarks. I didn't realize quite how big they were when I purchased them, but they make for really neat bookmarks.
My grandma had these beautiful (and large) mother-of-pearl vintage buttons, so I put them together and made these bookmarks. =)
ALSO new and currently for sale - my grandma had a bunch of unfinished quilts in her house - too many for my mom and I to finish if we wanted to - but I KNOW there are people out there who would like to finish them or maybe repurpose them into something else.
