No Zombies

I have learned something about myself this week. I am caught up on watching Downton Abbey and I don't have another show I'm currently watching, so I decided I needed to pick something new from Netflix. My options were Once Upon A Time or The Walking Dead. I actually watched a good portion of Once Upon A Time the first season, but because of my work schedule and not having DVR at the time, I got behind and finally gave it up. I liked it, but for some reason I thought I should try watching something really new - to me.

Sooo... during Zachary's nap the other afternoon I put on the first episode of The Walking Dead. Now... I read a lot of books... a lot of paranormal and fantasy books. I have watched and read about werewolves, vampires and witches, but apparently I am not cut out for zombies. I watched most of the first episode, but I was kinda grossed out by the time Zach woke up and finally I just turned it off. Something about that rotting flesh, I think. No zombies for me... back to messed up fairy tales I go. =)

Malachi has been home sick a lot the last few weeks. Kindergarten is kicking our butts lately. A couple Sunday's ago he threw up so hard that he broke all the blood vessels in his face! I had no idea that could even happen and kinda freaked out and took him to the doctor. He was totally fine the next day, but I kept him home until I could get a note from the doctor because his poor face looked so bad.

He's home again today with a bad cough.... I am so ready for all the sickness to be gone!

Other than that we're just laying low at the moment. Zach is turning into a little two-year-old dictator and driving us all crazy. I think I am about ready to dig out my Mommy School stuff I did with Malachi about this age.

My husband and I are currently exploring options for Malachi's school next year. We are not too impressed with our neighborhood school and we're not too convinced a new teacher next year is going to help the situation. This month has going to a couple different informational meetings to see what else might be out there for us to consider, so that should be interesting if nothing else.

Back to Normal

This week marks the first week getting things back to normal. Malachi is back to school - although he's not too happy about it - and Zach and I are starting up all our regular activities this week also.

I was quite proud that I have a meal plan done for the month, shopped Monday morning for my meals for the week, my husband are doing this fun little eating challenge (100 Days of Mini-Pledges) and I started my 12 week fitness program Monday also. Hopefully I can get past the first 2-3 weeks without pooping out this time!!!

One thing I decided before Christmas is that Zach and I were just a little too busy. We had:
Book Club - one Monday a month
Bible Study - every Tuesday
I work a 10 hr shift - every other Wednesday and Friday
Zachary's toddler class - every Thursday
MOPS - two Friday's a month

This doesn't count the two nights a week I meet up with a friend to walk, bunco nights and game nights with two different groups of friends and any other extra appointments! Too busy!

So I decided something had to go. So I chose Tuesday morning Bible study. I feel a tiny bit guilty about it since it a good, worthwhile thing to do, but it was one of the only things we did EVERY week that I could cut.

I've also been on a weird cleaning/organizing craze this week. I've been going through boxes that I'm not sure I've looked at since we moved here. Yesterday I discovered a box of crafting stuff and fabric. Some of it I didn't think I would ever use, the fabric I put with the rest of my stash and found new homes for the other few misc things. Hooray! A box to the Goodwill and an empty space for me to organize later.

Today I plan to go through a box that's been sitting on Malachi's floor (again... since we moved here 2  years ago!) that I'm pretty sure has none of HIS stuff in it. I am even feeling the bug to do some painting.... Malachi's room is the only room left that I wanted to repaint/redecorate when we first got here and I'm feeling like doing it. My husband says I'm tempting fate and will jinx us into having to move, but oh well.

Back to getting a jump on Spring cleaning!

Fall Fun

We are full speed into Fall and it's been busy around here! Malachi is loving school (even though I'm still not too sure about the crazy teacher and even crazier school) and Zach and I are enjoying our solo time together. =)

Zach and I spent a day together with our MOPS group at the local pumpkin patch. So fun to run around with this little man. I feel so blessed that he is finally running around like he should be. I can't even get too mad when he's running away from me!

This particular pumpkin patch has a lot of fun activities for kids. A huge sandbox in the barn is a big hit and so is the water trough and pump. We also saw some little bitty kittens that Zachary was super excited about. We went on a hayride, bought a few tiny pumpkins and went through a hay bale maze in the barn.

Definitely fun to spend time with friends and with Zach!

Malachi was disappointed that we weren't going to go to the pumpkin patch as a family, so Shaun and I decided to take the boys out all together to the other patch in town.

This was Zach's first day with boots and he was excited about that. =) Malachi had a great time walking around and "measuring" pumpkins for the right size (middle picture above). He finally found the one he thought was perfect.

Malachi and I carved his pumpkin a little too early.... it was rotting by the time Halloween arrived.... but we had fun doing it.

Malachi also went to the pumpkin patch with his school and his dad. Unfortunately, his dad broke his phone and he doesn't have the pictures from that day, but we DO have a good one of the giant pumpkin they carved together.

And last but not least - Halloween! My boys went as a cowboy and a pirate this year. Zach wore Malachi's old pirate costume. My mom made  both the costumes.

Malachi had a terrible runny nose, but he was super excited. I had to work, so all my pictures are secondhand from my mom and husband. Love these silly boys. =)

Family Photos

We recently had some new professional family photos taken. I used to have a friend who did them for free, but I lost contact with her for awhile and had to find someone new! It was hard! There are so many of them out there these days. I discovered a girl from our church was doing photos and decided to use her since Malachi already knew her.

The last time we had photos done was when we had Zach's newborn shoot. Two years! I think they turned out really great.

Here is my little model... he loves doing this.
This was before Zach was really walking around much on his own. And he was super shy....

And of course a few family shots... my husband is always thrilled when I decided to get pictures done (did you catch the sarcasm there?) I love how she  caught the evening light in this shoot....

And here's one of my favorite. It was completely by chance that these two pictures were taken. The one on the left is of Malachi at about 18 months, I think and the one on the right is of Zachary, age 2. Love it that we got these two almost matching photos of these brothers.

And there concludes the photo display for the day. Love the memories that are captured during these photo shoots. Personalities are visible and it's amazing how quickly the boys change at this age.

A Camping We Will Go!

This past weekend we went on our first camping trip of the summer. Each year we try to go camping a couple times, but usually we only make it out once. This Spring, my husband and I sat down and mapped out three different trips - two weekend and one week long trip. Hooray! I'm glad we got them booked onto the  calendar early because the summer sure fills up fast!

My parents went with us on this trip. It was fun and nice to have an extra eye out for the kids. Here's a view of our campsite. My husband does a lot of hunting in the Spring and Fall, so we'll amassed quite a collection of nice camping supplies over the years. The nicest thing we've bought is this Kodiak Canvas tent. It was definitely an investment, but my husband  claims it will last through lots of use and a house of boys. So far, so good. And it is very nice and comfy!
Our newest editions are the shower tent (upper right) and the camp kitchen (lower left).

My husband asked for a Zodi Instant Hot Shower for his birthday. It heats water from a bucket with propane and then sends it through a hose to spray at the end.

My idea was the FatMax 4-in-1 Mobile Workstation. Okay... actually I saw it on Pinterest first and thought it was amazing!! It folds up into a contained unit and folds out like a tackle box so you can get to everything. We got rid of two large plastic bins of camping kitchen supplies with this one unit!

I'm still waiting for my little Zachary to start walking. We're still doing physical therapy and moving in the right direction, but he spent most of his time on a strip of carpet (middle photo) so he wouldn't have to crawl in the dirt. He was getting pretty cranky by the end of the trip and wanting to be held a lot. Not that I blame him, but he'd sure be a lot less frustrated if he just decided to walk and could go where he wants to!

This was a good trial run for our BIG trip coming up in July. I'm a bit nervous about it actually. We are going to make a 800 mile trip (one way) to Yellowstone National Park. We're going to camp outside the park for 5 nights and then take one to two nights to drive home. I'm trying to be ultra prepared for everything, so I have everything planned down to the smallest thing - I hope! I'm really hoping Zach will be walking by then, but if not,  I've decided I'll buy him a small tarp to play on, so he has a bigger space (but please be walking!)

I'm scouring Pinterest for the best camping and road trip ideas! If you have any to share, I'd love to hear them!

Fun in the Sun

Today we were forced to stay at home ALL day. Not that this is a bad thing... sometimes I wish we did it more. Unfortunately, it seems like we have somewhere to go almost everyday around here. Is it bad that a part of me longs for the days without Women's Bible Study, MOPS, soccer and whatever other weekly activities we do during the school year? Anyway... my car was being worked on today (really more like being assessed, which seems to come with a future hefty price tag) and so we had to stay home.

Being that we had a day at home AND it was an amazingly gorgeous day here in the Pacific NW (over 80 degrees!), I cleaned my carpets and then forced Malachi to play outside. He's been begging me to play in the sprinkler for days now....

Isn't this the face of pure delight? I love the innocence.

And then there's my Zach. He napped for much of the outdoor play, but managed to get out and crawl around in the wet grass for awhile. Grass is not his favorite texture and I am slowly trying to get him used to it. I'm surprised he tolerated the wet grass at all!
See those scarred up knees? Those are the knees of a master speed crawler. Of a boy who refuses to walk on his own. Those knees are not dirty... they always look like that; a constant rug burn. Can't feel sorry for the kid though... he could walk he if wanted!

And what was I doing during all this fun?

I was tackling this mess. This is NOT part of the yard - this is the garden area right up against the house. Looks terrible doesn't it? This is what happens when you rent and don't feel like righting the wrongs of those who have come before you because you might move. Well... I think I'm staying here for awhile and I've decided I'm just going to have to make the best of it... and that means dealing with this disaster. So... one blister and a sore shoulder later it's slightly cleared out. Hopefully there will be an "after" photo to share eventually!

Happy Sunny Days!!!

Pinterest Clean-Up

I just spent a good deal of time cleaning up some of my Pinterest boards. Does anyone else have to do that occasionally? I spent the majority of my time today on a Party Time board that encompassed ALL types of parties: girl parties, kid parties, backyard parties, baby shower parties.... the list could go on and on...
What I discovered is that I had so many pins in there that I couldn't find what I was looking for (hmm... didn't I pin something one time for that??)

So today I split them into two categories: Kid Parties and Adult Parties. Hooray!
I also ended up deleting a bunch of pins that no longer apply, was something I decided I'd never do or I've done it and don't need the instructions anymore (I am now a tissue paper pom-pom expert thankyouverymuch).

I also found a bunch of diy furniture makeovers in a bunch of different catagories, so I combined them all onto one RePurposed Furniture board. Now I should just DO some of those projects. =)

I also seem to have a few too many "Misc" type boards. Those catch-all boards where you didn't know where to pin it, so you put it there. Hm... sometimes when I go through those boards I find a common thread and then *poof!* a new board is born. I even found this pin in one of those Misc boards today ---------> http://www.pinterest.com/pin/231653974555980115/

Ironic?

A New Phase - Sports!

Today my mom and I drove all around and purchased all the needed supplies and equipment for Malachi to start soccer! I signed him up for a 5 week session of soccer with a local organization. He informed me he would rather play football, but I said that it's not football season, so he'd have to be happy for soccer....

I think buying all the new stuff today made him really excited to start though. He got new cleats, socks, shin guards and a new pair of shorts and shirt. He's supposed to get a team shirt and a soccer ball for signing up. I wish I could post the picture I took of him when we got home today... he had to try it all on and see how it made him run fast! Oh! Plus I learned something new... apparently WalMart carries cleats. Who knew? $8! Sounds pretty good for something he's going to wear about a dozen times before he outgrows them.

Some of his little friends started playing last year... at 3- and 4-years-old. That's all fine and good, but I just wasn't ready. Not that I wasn't ready because I didn't think he was old enough, but I just knew that once IT started (meaning sports), they would probably never end. This will most likely be our lives for the next 15 years, so I was purposely putting it off. I could probably put it off for another summer, but I think he's ready.

And a commitment it is! It's two nights a week for five weeks. That seems like a lot - plus it doesn't start until 6pm! Is it just me or does that seem late? My poor Zachary is going to be ready for bed by the time we get home those nights! Ah well... I'm sure I'll get used to it and they'll be cute out there while playing.

Quick update

I still haven't gotten myself a new computer - which is why I'm still only basically posting book reviews. One of these days....

We've been pretty busy around here lately. At the moment, both of my boys are sick with some nasty bug, which means we are staying home and watching movies and I'm doing millions of loads of laundry... unfortunately. I'm praying I don't catch whatever they have - yuck. Anyway... since they're moving kinda slow today (the 5-year-old is currently sleeping!!) I thought I'd take the opportunity to write a little post.

We celebrated Malachi's 5th birthday party on March 22nd. I can't believe my boy is FIVE! He wanted a Seahawks themed party, so we served Game Day food and he wore his jersey. It was fun. His big gift from us was a new bike. It's SO big.

We are trying to make decisions on school for Fall, which has been a bit stressful. I want Malachi to attend a public school Montessori school in our area. The complicated part though? We're out of the school district. I was all prepared to use my parents address to give him a higher chance of getting in, but I just couldn't bring myself to lie. If it had been a situation where we were just trying to switch to another regular school in a different district, I think I would have been fine. Since it's by priority though, I felt like I was cheating and decided that if he was really meant to be in that school, it didn't matter where he was on the list, he'd get in. Well.... he's currently on the waiting list. They say there is a lot of movement over the spring and summer, so I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and if he doesn't get it - well - then it wasn't meant to be. The school in our neighborhood is supposed to be fairly good. Maybe he is just meant to go there. =)

Zach is currently crawling like a crazy-kid. He's into everything. He likes to get in all my cupboards and do things that Malachi never got into. We're still going to physical therapy every couple months, but I think he is definitely making good progress. Maybe he'll walk by his 2nd birthday if I'm lucky!

His vocabulary is also growing steadily and that's always a fun stage. He's always pointing and saying "look!" everywhere we go. His new thing is that he waves to all "doggies". When we take walks or just see people around town with dogs he waves to the dog - not necessarily to the people. Ha! A veterinarian in our future maybe?

Okay... well,  that's it for the day, I guess. Got to get back to these sickies.

MIA

I know I've been absent from blogging lately. I've thought about it a few times, but sometimes there's just too much going on in life to make time for one more thing.

I've been thinking about what we're going to do with out Elf on the Shelf this December - I'd like to have it planned out beforehand this year.

Malachi and I have been continuing on with preschool most days. He's doing so well that I'm actually considering Kindergarten for next year instead of waiting until he's six... we'll see.

And our lives have been busy. I've been feeling a little overwhelmed lately. I have decided that while I think I have the best of both worlds - staying home most of the time with my guys and working two days a week for some adult time - that I seem to plan my life as if I was just a stay-at-home-mom and then I have to fit a couple days of work in there too.

Sometimes that catches up with me and I don't get enough sleep or I over-schedule myself and get stressed out. That's been me the past couple weeks.

This was an excellent blog post that a friend of mine posted on FB the other day. I don't always take the time to read stuff like that, but this one I did. I felt like this lady had a direct view into our life - sometimes it's good to be reminded that not everyone else is perfect.

Over the River and Through the Woods

In high school, my church youth group would take a group of us camping and called it Wilderness. I was talked into going a couple times by my now husband. It's a pretty rustic area - you don't have to pay to stay in the campground, but there are only pit toilets and a river.

My husband goes there a lot when he's hunting, but it's probably been about 6 years or so since I've been there. We took the boys there this weekend.
Here's Malachi enjoying himself in the icy-cold glacier water. I was not so keen to go wading in it (I remember washing my hair in that frigid water back in the day... and it's not so pleasant), but I did get far enough in to snap a couple pretty pictures of the landscape.  The boys are hanging out in the tent and then there is the lovely picture of Malachi and the coyote. He and my husband went "bear hunting" and came back with a coyote. Apparently Malachi spotted it and he was so excited (can you tell from the look on his face in this picture??). I guess I have a natural born hunter on my hands.

We also did some hiking. The original hike we were looking for was VERY hard. WAY harder than I expected. The site I found it on said "good for kids" which was a total lie. See that narrow little path in the second picture on the bottom? That was where we stopped and turned around. I didn't take that picture at an angle - that's how steep it was. Holding a 25lb person on your back doesn't help you when you need all your balance. Malachi was terrified he was going to fall down the mountain.

We did find another remote trail that we walked down for awhile and that was fun. We found some good views and some insects that Malachi enjoyed chasing. I love the picture of Shaun and Malachi looking out at the mountains. =) Zachary can only handle so much hiking though... then he decides to scream the rest of the way - which is not so fun for the rest of us.

All in all a fun trip! This will probably be our last camping trip of the summer, but I'm still hoping to get in some more hiking in late-Summer and Fall. I just love the time outdoors with our family. Good memory-makers!

A Camping We Will Go!

We are getting ready to embark on our first camping trip as a family of four! Malachi was only about 4 months old the first time we took him camping - see some pictures here! He's so tiny! I just couldn't think about taking Zach last summer though. I didn't want to go camping hugely pregnant - and I couldn't picture taking a newborn, so we didn't go at all. Sad. =( This year we are taking a couple camping trips and I'm excited.

I've done my grocery shopping and have started lining up sleeping bags, cots and supplies by the front door. I've yet to actually pack any bags, but I have a couple days yet. I also super-cleaned my bathroom today - no sense coming home to a dirty house! Hopefully Malachi can refrain from spraying the whole bathroom in the next two days.

Some of my friends have been posting on FB lately about how they are going to attempt camping or backyard camping. I have nothing against backyard camping, but I'm also not so sure what all the fuss is about! It's not too hard to pack up a tent and some sleeping bags and spend a couple days outside! It's about as low-key a vacation as you can get. =)

I've been pinning lots of new ideas for camping on my Pinterest boards. This time we're going to make S'Mores one night and try Campfire Cones another night. Sounds yummy!

Anyone else going camping this summer? Any traditions you have?

A Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday

Months ago, I started planning a Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday party for Zach's 1st birthday. Little did I know how prophetic that choice was going to be. He really is like the Hungry Caterpillar in the way he eats. =)

My mom helped me out a ton with this party. It was meant to be fairly simple considering it's for a one-year-old, but it seems that even simple can be a lot of work.

His shirt was just a white polo from Target with some felt circles sewn to it. I cut out the circles at work the night before (using my K-Cup as a guide!) and my mom sewed it together today before the party.

My mom made me this adorable tissue-paper garlands. I originally saw it done on another blog, but my moms followed the links to this DIY Tissue Garland. Seriously SO easy (or so it looked when she did it) and it added SO much to our decor.

I had quite a few of these strung around the house: from the mantle, this one over the couch (on my currently bare wall), over the living room curtains and over the doorway in the dining room. Very colorful. I asked her to do the tissue circles double-layered. The blog I'd seen it on before only used a single layer of tissue and it was very transparent and I wanted a little more solid look.
I also put together a hanging caterpiller out of those tissue paper poms. There are a million tutorials out there, so I won't post one here. I just got red, light and dark green tissue and hung them from the ceiling with some fishing line. I had seen something like this made with hanging paper lanterns, but those things can be kinda expensive... so this was my alternative.

I was very excited about my food table. I researched lots of different parties and everyone had a cute idea. I finally decided on doing some simple foods and making cute little signs with wording from the book on them.

I got the graphics for the from Polka Dots and Puppies blog. (The link to her free printable is listed in the comments - FYI.) I made a little card for each thing for example: "On Saturday he ate through one PICKLE" or "In the light of the moon a little EGG lay on a LEAF". During the week, the caterpillar eats through a bunch of fruits and instead of having them each separate, I mixed them all up into a yummy fruit salad.
Our Hungry Caterpillar Food:
  • Small dill pickles
  • Mixed fruit salad (apples, pears, plums, strawberries and oranges)
  • Watermelon
  • Deviled eggs on lettuce leaves
  • Salami and Swiss cheese tray with butterfly crackers
For drinks we had iced tea and raspberry lemonade. I got these super cute mason jar lids for another party (which I have to blog about eventually) and had these red striped straws left over from my Red Hot Bunco party.

And lastly - but most importantly - the cake. I am so blessed to have a good friend who decorates cakes and she always makes my boys their birthday cakes and does an awesome job. This year was no exception with this adorable Hungry Caterpillar cake. Isn't he cute!?

So there it is... the Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday Party. It was fun, simple and fairly cheap. Perfect for a little boy who won't remember it. =)

A Walk on the Trail

We are fortunate enough to live near (within walking distance) of a paved trail that goes for MILES. We take a nice leisurely walking  through a senior's community and then we make it to the trail. I love it because it keeps Malachi, who is usually on his bike, contained and off busy roads. This was a day last week - when it was lovely and sunny outside!

This picture on the left is a very large, camouflaged frog. Malachi spent a VERY long time looking at the LARGE black and green frogs by the side of the road. I thought it was interesting too until we scared some and they went yelping (seriously... they yelp) and jumping from the bank into the water and totally freaked me out. Then I was done with the frogs. =)

Nature Walk

This past Monday was my birthday. We had celebrated with family all weekend, so I was trying to think of something to do that was kind of low-key. It has been unseasonably warm here in the Pacific NW this past 10 days or so and I really wanted to get outside to do something! I checked out a few local hiking trails and found one I'd never been too.

Malachi loved it OF COURSE. There were bugs flying around and salamanders swimming in the water (eww!). At first Zach enjoyed his ride on Daddy's back, but about 3/4 through he wanted to be held - by me - the rest of the way around the loop. Oh well. =) It was a very fun trip - we ate lunch at a little picnic area and then walked the trails for a fun family time.

Meal Organization/Planning

I am currently working on a new organizational project.... how it will end I'm not sure. =)

Here is the scenario I deal with quite frequently at my house:

I sit down to think of some things to have for dinner for the week. I ask my husband’s opinion on the matter. No one really cares. I write down a couple ideas. I am forced to go to the computer (usually to my Pinterest boards) to print off said recipes. Then I quickly try to figure out what additional items I need from those lists and then go off to the grocery store.

What is the problem you ask? I have a list. I’ve picked meals. Well… for one thing, I don’t usually plan ENOUGH meals – figuring I can just fill in the blanks with stuff we already have in the house or freezer. This would be a fine idea if I had enough staples lying around to do so. Hence, why we have pancakes or waffles for dinner at least once a week. Next problem is that I HATE it that we have a good selection of favorites, but I constantly have to search the web for their location and then print off another copy. Then that copy sits around in the kitchen until I finally chuck it in the recycle.

SO, I’ve decided to go through all our most commonly made meals and start myself a little folder – or recipe book. I don’t really want to transcribe all my recipes onto little cards, but I thought a nice folder of our favorites would really make my life so much easier. AND as I make new meals that we enjoy, I can just add a new page to the folder!

It sounds so simplistic – I mean, seriously what has been stopping me from doing this already? – but such is the way of life, I guess.

The second part of this plan is to make up a monthly meal plan. This would not be set in stone – our lives are way to busy to stick to something rigid – but instead of sitting down each week wondering to myself what we should have for dinner that week, I will have some ideas right in front of me. Things that are not a repeat of the week before!

Sounds great in theory right? Now to enact the plan…. =)

Diagnosis: Hypothyroidism

I have been putting this post off for several days now. Every time I think I need to sit down to write it, it just seems too overwhelming, so I don’t do it. When I put it like that it seems so dire, and it’s not really – really not at all.

I finally got my little Zachary in to have his blood draw this past Monday. I had posted last week about how his pediatrician was concerned about his slow growth and decided it was time for some tests…. Well, I got a call on Tuesday morning to confirm a diagnosis of hypothyroidism. He ordered us a prescription and a referral to an endo specialist.

Now this was not a total surprise to me. His doctor had mentioned that was his suspicion, but it still seems to have hit me pretty hard. My husband immediately expressed concern about the fact that they wanted to medicate him – which I would usually be in agreement with. I think kids these days are over-medicated, but I didn’t really want to wait 3 weeks until we got in to see the specialist to ask our questions.

I decided to do a little research online. I had told myself I would not do this – it only leads to more stress – but I figured I would just look up some reputable sites. What I found freaked me out though! Over and over again, I kept seeing phrases like, “mental retardation” and “affects cognitive development”. This is not the hypothyroidism of adults that can be treated with diet alone apparently – this is my baby’s brain development being in jeopardy. Not one article I came across had an alternative treatment.

After an explanation to my husband of everything I’d read, we decided to start the medication immediately. Which is beginning a whole new set of stresses. This medication does not come in a liquid form, so it is being custom ordered. I will be doing some additional research into our options, but this is currently what happens:

  1. I call the pharmacy for a refill
  2. They submit the order to their compounding pharmacy 60 miles away.
  3. The compounding pharmacy sends it to the local pharmacy the next day, where I pick it up.
  4. It is only good for 14 days after compounding, so I have to call again about 10 days later for another refill.

Seriously. I have to go through this twice a month – every month – for the foreseeable future. I am hoping to either find a local compounding pharmacy or possibly a form of the medication that doesn’t have to be compounded at all, but that all depends on our insurance, of course.

Honestly I am a little freaked out. It seems like pretty easy fix, but I am worried about the fact that we’ve found out so late in the year. I’m not sure if this didn’t show up in his newborn screenings or if it was just missed. I’m worried that he will have some permanent damage from this. I keep trying not to think about it too much, but every once in a while I have kind of a mini panic attack over it. Just sitting here writing about it makes me want to cry.

I am trying to trust in the fact that I know God is in control of this whole situation, but it is hard not to worry. My husband keeps telling me that Zach is totally fine and he does SEEM to be.

Today was the 4th day of his medication. It will be interesting to see what changes start to happen as it takes effect.

Spring!

We're just enjoying some nice Spring weather today!! I got out the stroller and sprayed it down with bleach water to remove all the mildew (I left it outside in the elements this Fall) and then we took a nice walk! Hooray!
