Side tangent: I was ordering a new phone off Amazon because The Big Guy is starting a new part-time (in addition to the full-time one) job where he is calling people a lot. We disconnected our home phone last fall when he was on unemployment, but I'm afraid of what the cell phone bill is going to be like with this new part-time job, so I called up my favorite phone company (Vonage!) and set up a new home number. When I canceled our Comcast (bleh!) phone last fall, I threw away our telephone because it was stupid. I decided that if we ever set up a home phone again - I was going to buy a new phone and I was throwing that one away so I wouldn't be tempted to use it again! So there! Hence - buying a new phone on Amazon.
Back to the original story: So... while ordering a new phone I see this cute book! AND I just had to have it. I got it in the mail yesterday and love it already because most of the hats are cute, but not difficult. I like cute, but non-challenging projects. Not to say that I don't like to learn new things... because I do... I just like them to be easy to figure out. This book looks like it will provide me with some of that - I've never made a baubble, a tassel, done a cable, etc. I think I might start at the beginning and work my way through the book. We'll see. Of course I want to start right away, but it looks like I will have to buy a few new knitting needles from my favorite store KnitPicks.com first. But, of course I will post my finished projects!
