Experimenting with Design

Well, I'm pretty proud of myself. I always see all these super cute blog designs out there and mine was just a simple little graphic I put together. I finally figured out how these designers do it (well, some of them). They purchase a little thing called a Digital Scrapbooking Kit and then put it together to make a cute little banner! =)

Sooo... I was thinking... gee... I don't want to spend $50 (or even $35) to have someone purchase one of these things and make me a blog header with it, when I could (probably) do it myself. I downloaded a free program called Photoscape and then went to a site called ScrapOrchard and picked out my digital kit. Mine was about $6.00 to download and - ta da! Hours of fiddling with it later... I created my first banner (if you were here a day or two ago, you probably saw it - not the greatest). Then much quicker this time, I created the current one. Yay! So excited that I can do this myself. AND I was pretty excited that I can now CHANGE it myself whenever I want. Mmm... maybe I shouldn't be sharing this with everyone. haha

Anyway... giving myself a little pat on the back... good job, me. =)

Great job on the banner!! Like you, I wanted a spiffy page but didnt want to pay others to make it, so I did it myself (I have two blogs under this name and I did the layouts for both). Digital design is a hobby of of many haha.
