EcoUsable Water Bottles

EcoUsable, Inc provides consumers with affordable planet-friendly, reusable products that are recyclable, health conscious and designed to improve the lives of people worldwide.

About a month ago, Marc from EcoUsable mailed me a box of their stainless steel water bottles to review. I gave one to my husband (the 25 oz. Big Dipper) and I alternated between two - the 16 oz Bottle and the 33 oz Bottle.

33 oz w/
pattern
$18.49

I have to admit right off that I've never been very big on these metal water bottles. Most of the time I think they are kind of bulky to carry around (especially when filled with water) and I don't like the way the mouth of the bottle feels.

So with those pre-conceptions, I opened the box and was surprised at how lightweight these bottles are! The largest 33 oz bottle only weighs 4.5 oz. I was also impressed with the mouth of the bottle. It is a pretty large opening, which I like and feels very smooth. All the bottles came with a color coordinated carabiner clip for easy carrying, which was nice. Also, because there is no liner (because their bottles are stainless steel they do not have to line them like aluminum bottles - another plus!) the water is taste-neutral. I found this to be true. No weird bottle taste - just as good as if I was drinking it from a glass.
Some details about the bottles:
-Made from 304 food grade stainless steel
-BPA free and aluminum free
-Safe non-leaching polypropylene & liner free
-100% Recyclable
-Half turn loop top; fewer threads mean less chance of bacterial growth (and easier to open and close!)
-Easy to clean and fits ice cubes
-Skid-proof mat bottom
-Slim designs fit in most cup holders

Big Dipper
$24.99

The bottle that my husband used, the Big Dipper, is unique in that it fits their ECH2O filter for filtered water on-the-go! Since he is a hunter and spends a lot of time out in the woods, he was really interested in the ECH2O system. He really liked the curved shape of the Big Dipper because it was easy to hold and in addition, ours came with a carry strap, which makes it nice for him when he's hiking. We are seriously considering purchasing the filtration system for this bottle - only $24.99 for the filter or $39.99 for the bottle + filter.

My experience with the bottles was great. I now bring a bottle with me wherever I go - around town, to work, to work in the church nursery, etc. Previously, I was bringing my Starbucks Cold Cup with me everywhere, but I've found that these bottles are nicer because they have a lid (no straw for my drink to spill out) and I can throw them in a diaper bag or purse without worrying about leakage.

I started out using the 33 oz bottle, but discovered I really enjoyed carrying around the smaller 16 oz bottle when I was running around town because its so compact and easy to carry. I like the lid feature because my son can't open it (yet), but you can also purchase a Sport Cap for $3.99 that fits the mouth of your bottle.
