My Review:
Okay, this wasn't my favorite Sookie Stackhouse book. Not sure why, exactly, but it just wasn't my favorite. I think I didn't like all the people (uh, creatures) dying or something and the end seemed a little rushed after taking a long time to get to it. There were a couple passages I had to read more than once to figure out what was happening - I didn't think it was the best written of the series, although I thought the plot line was okay.

What I did like: I like how Harris brings characters back in from previous books. The vamps from the last book were back, which was kind of a given, but she also brought back Barry the Bellboy, also a telepath, from the 2nd or 3rd book and it was cool to catch up with him and see how his life had changed since meeting Sookie.

I'm still rooting for Quinn the were-tiger, but I'm sensing a definite leaning towards vampire Eric (not necessarily on Sookie's part, but the author's!). Harris keeps making sure that Eric and Sookie are tied together which also seems to harm Sookie's relationships with other guys. Still glad that Bill is out of the picture - I'm always worried that he's going to make a comeback.

I'm interested to see where the story goes from here. Coming into this book, I knew what was ahead because Sookie was looking forward to the vampire summit, but since at the end of this one she's decided maybe it'd be better to spend more time with normal human people, I'm not sure where that leads. Obviously something will happen!
