New Car Seat Guidlines

Have you seen the new guidelines from the AAP for toddlers in car seats?

They used to recommend that children were rear-facing until 1 year or 20lbs.

The NEW recommendation is age 2 or until they reach their maximum weight and height for their car seat.

We kept our son rear-facing until his legs wouldn't fit anymore facing that way - about 18 months, but I know many, many parents who have only heard the old information of 1 year/20lbs.
