I usually just use my regular laundry detergent when I wash my diapers. I make my own detergent and have my own diapers for the most part, so I don't have to worry about negating a warrenty.
I never had much of a stink problem until about 6 months ago. When my son was around 18 months old, all of a sudden, his diapers started to stink more. I don't know if it was more of a concentration of urine or what, but clearly my regular detergent wasn't cutting it.
I received a sample of Rockin Green's Rage Against the Raspberry scent in the Classic Formula. I decided to just throw in my soiled diapers and see how it did. I used the lesser recommended amount and I think I should have used more, but it did pretty good. The second time I washed my diapers, I used a little more detergent and they smelled wonderful!
I'm sure that if I did a Rockin' Green soak and "de-funked" my diapers originally it would have been even better the first time. I was pretty impressed! Rockin' Green is supposed to be clean rinsing, so you may be able to eliminate extra rinses from your routine!
Another great thing about Rockin' Green (other than the de-funk factor) is that it's made with safe phosphate-free ingredients, which according to them means its gentler on the planet and little ones! One of the reasons why I make my own laundry detergent is that I can control what goes into it, so I like the fact that Rockin' Green is a safe product.
As I said, I received some Rage Against the Raspberry scent, but Rockin' Green detergent comes in SIX different scents and one unscented version. It also comes in three formula's depending on what kind of water you have - hard, soft or classic.
Their website http://rockingreensoap.com/ also offers some other helpful laundry and cloth diapering items like, diaper sprayer, laundry scoop, dryer balls, etc.
