Anne of Green Gables Girls Night

Back in January, I did a movie night for a bunch of my girlfriends and we watched the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice (view the cute invitations I made for that night). Yes, we watched ALL 5 1/2 hours of it in one night! That night a bunch of the girls expressed an interest in doing the same thing with Anne of Green Gables. Now that it's almost summer, I decided it's time to do it.

I'm very excited - I need to make up some new invites, but I haven't quite decided on the wording. I'm thinking something along the lines of, "you're cordially invited to join other kindred spirits in watching Anne of Green Gables at Elsie's house..." you get the idea. Well, I looked at the movie and figured out it would actually take 7 hours to watch the whole thing! I think that's a little much, even for me, so I think we will watch the original first part and then maybe in August I'll have to do another movie night for us to watch Anne of Green Gables - the Sequel.

I'm thinking that we need to have plum pudding, chicken salad sandwiches, shortbread, jelly-tart cookies and raspberry cordial, of course! I like to have food to go with my theme, if possible. Lucky for me, my mom owns a Anne of Green Gables cookbook and The Anne of Green Gables Treasury for me to get authentic recipes from.

I'm off to plan - I have about 3 weeks, since I'm thinking of doing it on June 18!
